I have too many books.
Because of this mom says I have to decide which to keep and which to give away.
I’m not lying when I say it is one of the hardest things I’ve had to do in a long, long time. These books are my childhood, and letting them go is terribly difficult because each and every one changed me in some way, however slight. And letting go of some of my favorite characters, books who were my friends through moving, long summers, and times of loss, is quite a challenge for me. But I know that if I give them away, then some other child will be able to read them too and make a new friend and find a new favorite place. And I need to give them a chance to become that for someone else.
